Surprise!

Well, it wasn’t really a surprise. Aramis managed to break a fence encouraged by the females on the other side of the track.

We did spit-offs, one of the females even had a pregnancy test at 6m and all seemed to indicate nothing had happened after all. At the end of the day, Aramis was never put to work and we didn’t know if he was fertile anyway.

Come September, I had two names written on the calendar: Esme and Milady. Three weeks before the year of the event, Grace suddenly appeared in the field, already running. Seven days later, Milady gave birth to The Boy. He’s got not name. He got pneumonia after birth and we didn’t think he’d make it. Milady was a wonderful mum.

But he did make it, only a couple of days of sitting down, he soon was playing naughtily sneaking on the patient maidens, being mischievous with Grace. What a pair of stunning unplanned animals they are! I could have never imagined a better surprise.
