Soft rain of Autumn

It’s been raining for quite a few days in a row. Into the barn: some rain coming all day. A bit of sunshine: out off the barn. Coat for the little one. Maybe he can do without today. Out of the barn. Some more rain, back in for the night…

Actually, the animals do like the rain. They happily cush down just next to the field shelter, outside in the rain, as if the rain did not get you wet if you sit down.

If the rain is not too much, or not for long, we let them enjoy the drizzle.

But I care for them and their fleeces, so I bother with walking them up and down in the wind and the rain, to keep them safe and dry.

In the process I get to see them closely, to observe their shape, their growth, I feed them sometimes on my hands, I hear their humming sound, I observe how they behave with one another, I touch their back, and top their vitamins or weight the cria. Sometimes I stand amongst them for a long time just being there with them sharing my thoughts in silence. They come in turns to sniff me, they do this where they stand leaning on me resting their weight, they find their resting spot for the night just next to where I am, they take me in and include me as I’m part of their group. Then I have to go giant stepping over them finding my way out of the barn.

With my wellbeing bar full to the top, a bit soaked by the soft rain of autumn, I gather myself together and go back to my human doings. I am definitely very super lucky.
