Yasmin

With a particular spelling, Yasmin is one of those that you don’t really know how to deal with. She’s full of surprises, and her behaviour is always unexpected. One day, she runs to be the first and lets you stroke her back. The next, she stays away and doesn’t want to come to feed until you’ve walked away.

Yasmin on her early autumn coat.

With a good pedigree, she isn’t the prettiest. So how did she end up with us?? Pity. The boss found her cute, felt sorry, and there! She was included in the load! The boss must have known something, though. She wasn’t pregnant. However, after a couple of months and just before the winter, she gave us a cria.

That’s how it all started. We didn’t really want to breed then, but it came up like that.

Yasmin is beige, not white. I can’t really see the difference between those. Colour perception is very personal. I just use my colour card.

Aramis and the boss.

So far, she’s just given us white animals. In 2023, she will be the first one to unpack. The sire is our beloved Aramis. So I’m predicting my fave light fawn. Hopefully, this cria will look like him. I love Aramis’ face and conformation. Aramis also provides the nice handle of his mum and a very decently dense fleece. So I’m very curious about this one.

I guess Yasmin started us in the breeding process. We have learned so much since then. It has been a few years. And we love it! Now we’re ready to start it all again.
