We all have our favourite fleeces. One, we love for their texture; one, for their colour; one for… why not!?
In the middle of practising with the halters, we teach the youngsters to tolerate being handled, which is very useful for husbandry duties. It makes it easier and less traumatic for everyone – including me – because I don’t like causing stress to the animals.
As well as checking their teeth and holding their feet up to inspect the hooves, we decided to open their fleeces and peep into the depth of their coat to satisfy our curiosity.
I already have a favourite between those two. Have a guess!!
I have to say I’m proud of the animals we are producing. We have improved by far the quality of the animals and their fibre. I hope to continue to contribute to the high standards of the breed.
