Ivory

It’s not good news today. She fought for days and days. Until the very last second.

Even when she was unwell she was sweet, she was tame and looked into your eyes, talking to your soul.

Her colour was awesome, her touch was magic. She was so dense and soft! Ivory awakened the curiosity of the judges, so she gave us prices for a wonderful fleece. We didn’t show her enough.

She understood different, so she made us proud with her behaviour and personality. She gave us confort and cuddles and put smiles in our face, she softened our hearts.

She gave us a beautiful daughter. She was the best mum and companion for weanlings, the best mate for the mums while the long wait,  and the best company for us.

I have seen her and touched her for the very last time today. And I’m going to hold strong to those memories, as I don’t want to forget that Ivory was so precious.

There’s many alpacas, but it feels empty today in the farm with no Ivory looking over the group. The herd will learn with time that she’s not joining them back.
